The practical rules
- Keep your dog leashed and under control at all times, even where pets are welcome.
- Bring waste bags and clean up — stores can revoke welcome status over messes.
- Respect "service animals only" stores: only trained service dogs qualify under the ADA; leaving a pet in the car is safer than pushing the rule.
- When in doubt, call the specific location — franchise and regional rules can differ.
