How long do African Bullfrogs live?
African bullfrogs live 20-40 years (males longer) and reach 4-10 inches (10-25 cm) body length, with large males weighing up to 2 kg.
What do African Bullfrogs eat?
They are carnivorous ambush predators: crickets, roaches, worms, fish, mice, and other frogs. Feed juveniles every other day and adults 1-2 times weekly, offering prey dusted with calcium; large adults get a mouse or rat pup occasionally — but not often, as mammals cause fatty liver. Never overfeed; obesity shortens life. Do not cohabitate (they eat each other).
